A jamming posh hoedown

The card and UV(C) lens protection filter for my DSLR have arrived. Whoopee! I haven't used it yet. I'm trying to think of something good for the first picture. I saw this on Sunday:

I don't know how the flag ended up draped over the rock, which is off Plymouth Hoe. I suspect it floated there, but who knows?

My new camera

These are photographs I took soon after I bought the best camera I have owned up to now - a Canon G9 - and started to get interested in taking pictures of the real world that looked a bit abstract. I take other pictures as well of course.

I've just acquired 2 new cameras. One is a Canon digital single lens reflex, and the other is a cardboard kit to make a pinhole camera. My daughter gave me the kit, which uses film! The card for the Canon hasn't arrived yet, and I haven't got round to assembling the pinhole camera but I hope to use both to take interesting pictures.

The pictures I have posted were taken in December 2008 near the Sundial in Plymouth, a local monument of which I am fond. 

I'll put some pictures here if I take any that I think are worth showing to you.
